chirp 2nd in my 03 isn't that hard to do. i don't drop the clutch either. I just shift at like 7500-8000 and it does it.

Front drive with that kind of power is easy; it's the weight transfer of Rear drive and the S02's stickiness that make it difficult in the S2000.

When my SO-2s were well worn I started being able to chirp 2nds in a straight line but I would feel terrible trying to do it on the newies. They are just too sticky and I think it would just clutch slip.

I really dont understand how anyone is chirping into 3rd in a straight line in the dry without FI or gears.

I can easily chirp 2nd and sometimes can chirp 3rd. Back when my rears (S-02's) were slick, I could easily get the rear loose going into 2nd, and 3rd would chirp fairly easy.
