I know in Torrance, if you dont consent to a search they WILL impound your car on the spot. Its happened to my friend in front of my eyes.

Doesnt sound correct.

That video is like one of those cheesy high school videos, only teaching how to get away with things. Some of the points are valid, but it's true that not doing exactly what the police want will result in them throwing every violation that they can at you. Few cops I know will respect that you know your rights, because chances are, they'll know more them, and also know what they can get away with charging you with.

I know, Torrance cops are the worst if you get on their wrong side.

My friend was also marked after that situation. He NEVER got pulled over until then, and mysteriously got pulled over a multitude of times after that.

He was forced into selling the car Then, went back to not getting pulled over again.

Back in the 80s, I asked what would happen if I said no, and they had a German Sheppard actually in my car sniffing around the back seat minutes later. Nothing to find, so no problem, but, if you actually have a reason they shouldn't search, say no and make it stick.

Hate to correct..."enough that you WON'T illegally search my sh*t."

But this is coming from a white guy, so believe it if you want
