Anyone in D/FW have problems with there S2000 in the bad weather?
Just curious, cause ABS on my car saved my arse many times during the holidays.
I was very cautious driving under the speed limit and 3 or four car lengths from the car ahead of me.
Any S2000 owners in Dallas have any problems with the bad weather? Expecially on the icy bridges.
Thanks...

I didn't have trouble with the S2k in the ice...
I drove the wife's car.
Insomniak, don't you think snow tires in this area is overkill? We get snow once or twice a year.
I did drive the Honda the day after the snow last week and it was a bit slippery in places.

well i'd rather it be overkill then under.. but i'll get the tires mainly for the winter weather not because of the snow but all the rain we get and all the stuff i've heard about the stook not handling well when its wet out.
I have extreme difficulty in the rain, not to mention the ice. The OEM S02's are very poor acclimate weather tires.
I can't maintain any speed above about 50 in the rain and about 12 mph with the recent ice and snow. I drove from Irving to Lower Greenville for New Year's. I drove on 635 until I saw a SUV smack into a Saturn on a overpass. After that, I drove on the feeder to avoid hills and bridges (and idiot Texas drivers). It was a very harrowing experience. I won't do it again.
I'd buy some all weather tires, but I'm going to London soon.

Once it started icing on Sunday, my stook stayed in the garage until today. We had a lot of fun in my roommate's Saturn, though.
Back in July when we got all those really heavy rains before the draught set it, I had to keep it under 70mph or risk the rear stepping out, but that was with some fairly worn tires. The current ones, with about 1000mi, work great.
Last year, there was a single day during which it sleeted really badly after I had already gotten to work. Unfortunately, I absolutely had to drive somewhere during lunch - I did a good spin pulling out onto the road, but after that kept it at about 5-10mph and didn't have any trouble. Fortunately, it wasn't as bad as a smooth sheet of ice on the road would have been. After that day, however, I knew I'd never want to drive on anything remotely like ice again. The tires just flat don't grip, plus with the LSD when one breaks loose they both tend to, making things even more scary.
