I am just checking on the advantage/disadvantages of the Comptech diff. enforcement. Has anyone ever broken a Comptech diff.?

I haven't heard of it but I haven't had a lot of exposure...
Hope someone else has some answers since im about to boost...

 

A couple of people broke them. Usually high HP and drag racing.

 

Anyone in the 300-350 whp area care to chime in? That is all I will ever try to get out of my S2k.

Just get an ap2 diff (hehe j/p, just had to cuz I know Wisconsin will reply soon).

On subject, yes some owners have reported braking the comptech diff, but it was usually under high HP load. Not sure if anyone with stock or bolt ons ever blew one.

 

Someone asked this question recently, i think one member that was S/C did it, i didnt follow the rest of the thread so there might be more.....everything breaks eventually,even diffs DESIGNED for 1000hp drag cars have broken.

 

There have been TWO.


One was by wesmaster, who was supercharged, running high HP and pretty much beat the ever loving snot out of his car in a deliberate attempt to break the comptech diff. lol. Eventually (took some time from what I recall) he succeeded.

The other was a track built/prepped S2k, who also half expected the diff to eventually fail, considering the kind of abuse he would put the car through.
