anyone get an annoying squeak from the seat belts?

Default anyone get an annoying squeak from the seat belts?

cold days... warm days.. not sure exactly what it is but occasionally i'll get squeaky sounds from my seat belt rubbing up against the seat.

i've been patient with it for a while but its starting to annoy me... anyone else get this??? any suggestions???

The squeak you are hearing is coming from right in front of the seatbelt guide. The seatbelt rubs right against that part of the seat and results in the squeak you hear. Using Townsend's leather cleaner and conditioner, you can supposedly moisten the seat enough so that it won't squeak. OTC leather products like Lexol and Blue Magic may not work as well, I know Blue Magic doesn't (which is what I have).

Another suggestion would be to put some felt on the seat so the belt rubs against that instead.

Lots of us have used the cloth side of a black self-adhesive velcro square.

Use those pre-cut velcro squares. Just put the soft side right where the belt hits the seat.

i used the velcro trick. except, i dont want to glue nuddin to my seats! i folded the velcro onto itself, cut holes through it, and screwed the seatbelt guide through it !

i use one of those racing harness pads on the seatbelt and just place it where it rubs when i drive.
