Anyone gets burned by their shift knob in the summer?
Hi guys
Just want to know if anyone who changed their shift knob from the stock aluminum to the titanium one notices any difference in the finger burning department after parking under the hot summer sun w/ the top down.

I keep a "mini" Crown Royal bag in my cup holder for days like you describe. My wife thought I was messed up at first, but it works great, and if someone steals it, no biggie, I'd be happy to get a new one.
I have a Ti knob and yes you will get scalded on hot days. Especially with the top down. However, the burn is not as bad as the stock knob.
Just follow Fireslayer's advice and you palm will stay in good standing.

Even with the 02 knob, I get burnt. It is a pain to try to shift holding only to the leather portion, which is still very hot. I am getting some type of knob sock or maybe a Crown Royal bag like above for this summer.
I bought a 2002 shift knob due to the heat here in Phoenix. I rarely drive the car, except on road trips, but even then it was getting ugly. When I singed my hand in February here I knew I had to get the newer knob. It works great for me.
I have a titanium shift knob. Yes, it's hot in the summer and uncomfortably cold in the winter.
This afternoon I made myself a wooden shift knob hoping to solve the problem and recapture the classic look of the old British sportscars. Unfortunately, it looks out of place with the S2000 interior. Too bad, I'm sure it would have solved the hot/cold problem.
I put the titanium knob back on and I think the idea of a Crown Royal bag or a sock that I read on this thread is a good one. I'm going to try it.
On another thread someone said that they took a knob to the cobbler and had him make a leather cover for it. That would probably solve the hot/cold problem too.

I'm not 100% sure, but it seems like a very long time ago (2 years) Rick made leather booties for them. They sounded nice. The only reason I went with the mini Crown Royal Bag, was because it is free, and it works perfectly!
