Anyone have a baby seat in their S2000?
I was just wondering if there is any way (i.e. a switch in the glovebox, etc...) to disable the passenger side airbag so you can put a child safety seat in a S2000. I run taxi duty to day care in the mornings, so that's a major factor in the purchase decision.
Thanks!
Thanks!
No switch.

If I remember correctly, Honda will offer the installation of a switch which will allow you to turn it off. Obviously, you have to pay for parts and labor, but it would be installed by Honda, and therefore, under warranty. If your local dealer says it doesn't exist, don't believe him and ask higher up the chain...this isn't a common item people ask for, so many may not know about it.
i use a Britax booster seat for my 4 1/2 year-old son. its fits quite well and is not as bulky as other booster seats.
car and driver( december or jan issue) had a very nice article about passenger airbag and child safety. you might want to check it out before you do anything with switches.

Thanks guys - I read the Car & Driver article, and that's what prompted me to ask the question - and I like the responses I received. There is really no problem with airbags & kids unless the kids aren't properly restrained. The seat I have is a Graco with a 5-point harness, very similar to the Simpson unit MajorHavoc uses. I'll have to bust out the measuring tape to see how far it is from the "deployment area" of the passenger side airbag to where the seat will be. With the shape of the seat, you have to recline the passenger seat pretty far to make it fit, so the child is most likely out of the blast area. Also, with the seat belt properly fastened in place, even without the tether, you can get it tight enough that it won't move.
