From what I remember my friend who works at Honda told me there is no OEM diff fluid from Honda. I also work at Lexus and we dont even have OEM diff fluid. We just use mobil 1. I havent experience LE607 so I cant say anything on that. I use Royal Purple full syn 75w-90 and it works fine for me. I also use Royal Purple synchromesh for my tranny. I had a second gear grind only in the morning when it was cold. Honda told me it was "normal". They even had a service bulletin saying it was normal. I was like BS! whatever. I switched to the RP synchromesh and it took the grind away and shifts alot smoother imo. Its really up to you on what you want to use. I always been a RP guy and very happy with their fluids.

^ Yea he is right about there not being an OEM diff fluid. Mobil 1 has been working fine for me. If you take it to have a shop do it like the dealer for instance please take the bottle there with you because I have had a shop try and use diff fluid for a CRV. Definitely not designed for the S2k.

i use amsoil in my tranny and diff. I like it best. Mobil 1 gets good reviews and is easily available which makes that a plus. I also hear good things about the royal purple. Oh, and you wont void your warranty because you dont use Honda fluid. You just need to keep it to a certain spec. Take care.

LE607 is what I have been using, it's a straight 90W, thats what the manual calls for.

if the manual calls for straight 90W oil then why do people use 75w-90?

Because of the lack of availability of straight 90W. Also if you live where it gets really cold. Straight 90W is not so good.

Because 90w is hard to find and 75/90w is easy. That is the reason that we offer LE 1605 (www.ricks2k.com)

The LE 1605 is the replacement for LE 607 and is a 90w as they spec used to be. But just like the HP rating changes that the SAE did, they also changed the way oil is spec'ed. What was 90w is now 110w.
