^^^ I agree w/ you to a point, but would rather have different street vs. track experiences. Which is why I have a Miata (primarily track car) and an M3 (street) vs. 2 Miatas (or S2000's). Still, there's no universal right answer, I just know that 2 of the same car doesn't make sense for me.
I think the difference for me is the element of competition. I want to practice some elements on the street with a similar car to what I track / autocross in competition. The SUV is for bad weather, Winter and loafing.

I totally see your point, though. I'd be a little bored of two identical S2000s. But if everything goes as planned, the track S2000 will be a 400whp twin scroll turbo on E85 wearing 315/30/18 Hoosiers. Different enough from the CR on street tires to make it interesting...

i blew the motor on my AP1 on the track. 3 days later i bought a CR. that was a year ago.

3 weeks ago i finally sold the AP1. so for a full solid year, i had 2 S2000s.

i have a pic of my AP1 under a coat of snow taken from the inside of my CR.
it was taken with my cheapy 0.5 meagpixle camera phone so it's not very good pic. but you can tell the S2000 dash in the foreground the the old S2000 in the distance.

i'll look for the pic.

I have two...one for me, the other for the wife. Both street cars:

Not the most updated pic of the red one, but a few more days and I'll get new pics to post.
