Default Anyone know how to remove this?

I did a search but couldn't find anything. I plugged my car charger into the cigarette lighter and it ripped the whole piece out of place so now it dangles if I don't keep it pushed back. I'd like to take it apart and fix it but I'm not sure how to get it out of there. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

It's this piece right here (courtesy of webestore)

You have to first remove the shift knob then the center console(by the shifter and e-brake) by pulling up on each corner then the center CAREFULLY. All that holds the center console in are clips. Then unplug the hazard switch, roof switch and defrost switch to remove it completely. You now have to remove two covers directly behind the seat. If you recline the seat forward you will see two covers directly behind the seat backs. Each one of these has two screw covers on each end that you have to pop off (with a little flat head) to expose the screw. Remove those screws and then those two covers will pop off as well (just clips holding it in).
I'm not sure if there are screws under those covers that hold the console (you want to remove) on. But if there are take those out too but i think there are just clips. Now you will have to remove the screw inside the console you want to remove (inside in the center). I think there might be some screws on top too if you open the console completely, just check and if there are remove them (sorry I haven't taken one out in a while). After that the console should be pulled forward to pop it off and you'll need to unplug the trunk switch and the cigarette lighter to remove it completely. I might have missed some things but as you do it you should be able to figure out what needs to be removed that i haven't mentioned in order to take it out. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much!! I feel like an idiot now, I was basically just missing those two covers that need to be popped off. I'm going to take care of it tomorrow, I'll let ya know but I'm pretty sure that'll do it. Thanks again, I owe you one.

After you remove all the stuff listed above, you have to remove the convertible tray (the plastic thing the top sits on when down), which is a pain. Easiest way is to get it out the trunk after popping out the plastic screws. Take out your spare tire and stuff first.

After the tray is out, you'll see it was covering more screws. You can take it from there once you see it.

Cheers

My 12v in the center console is broke off also. Has been for 4 years now, I am too lazy to mess with it. I smeared some black rtv gasket maker around it and shoved it back in. It stays in and doesnt rattle but if I were to ever use it for anything it would probably break off again.

lol.. mine has been that way for a couple months. It seems like a lot of work but it bugs the crap out of me. I'm going to get it taken care of on my next day off (Wednesday). I'll try to post pics or a DIY if anyone cares.
