Here's a good explanation I've found. Basically, Hyper VTEC is a motorcycle-only implementation of variable valve lift. Since motorcycles these days don't typically have rockers, the valves are actuated directly off the camshafts. Therefore the VTEC setup we're used to seeing in our cars isn't possible. So Hyper VTEC uses a similar concept to our own VTEC in that it uses a oil pressure powered pin, but in this case it's used to completely disengage two of the four valves at low RPMs.

So it's actually quite different in operation to the VTEC the S2000 uses.

Hyper VTEC Spec II is simply the second iteration of the Hyper VTEC system.

vtech 2 is vtech 1 but with more lobes for when u need mid range tq and power and u can save gass when u dont need the pwoer as same rpm range...

Err, whatever those things in the S2000 engine are that the cams push on which in turn push down on the valves. Beats me if they're properly called rockers, followers or whatever, but our cars have them and most motorcycles dont.
