Default Anyone not like the sound of Intake???

Maybe I sick or something. Did not buy an intake yet but for fun I took the top of the airbox off and drove it around for a night. Was a lot louder, but there was some loud train "wooooo" noise coming from it when I was at lights at idle. Maybe I have owned too many integras. Does the S2000 just do that or should I not be judging it by only taking off the the of the air box?

You'll get the hum on most CAIs, I even get on my SC intake although it's hard to hear over the lash and I had it with the AEM, it bothered me a bit, but not enough to get rid of the intake.

That's why the airbox is so huge, one whole section of it (right side, the big open chamber) is to reduce that noise.

It was weird that it did not get worse with higher RPM. Was almost like a loud wisttle only at 1k. If it was brought up to 1500 it would go away. I felt like everyone was looking at me like there was something wrong with my car. Well I had to shoot up to the dealer for some things yesterday so I but it back on. Did seem more boring. With it off, it gave it more to a 6-cylinder sound.

Where does the CAI filter stay? Does it just drop down where to box was, or does it snorkle down to one of the sides where those open compartments are in the bumper. If it does that I am sure it would be the passanger side cause there is some big A/C looking thing on the driver side.

Depends on what you get. The AEM snorkels down behind the passenger faux vent.

My '98 Integra GS-R made the same "Wooooooo" sound at idle with an AEM CAI that the S2k does with the airbox top removed.

I love the sound.. It sounds mean at higher rpms.. The price for this mod is absolutely great!! Under 5k rpms, it almost sounds normal.. But after that it turns into a beautiful growl!!
