Default Anyone powder coated their control arms?

Working on a project s2k now. The controls arms are a little rusted so i thought i would sandblast them and powder coat them. I have a buddy with a sandblaster and powder coater so this would cost me nothing.

Has anyone done this before? Anything i should be weary of? And i figure while im at it i'll get new bushings, is there any aftermarket companies making urethane bushings?

I googled with no results so hopefully someone can help me here.
Thanks!

I don't think so, they have a light covering of rust over them. Mine is a 2000 if it makes any difference

I believe they are just stamped/cut steel... I have thought about doing this same thing, but haven't got around to it since it is my DD. There is a vendor on here that takes them and replaces the bushings as well as paint/powdercoat them. I don't remember who tho

I was thinking of doing this the other day. One problem is that you probably have to remove all bushings/ joints because I don't think they will make it through the oven. I don't think the rear upper control arm have replaceable joints.. I think you have to replace the arm... I guess I'll stick to paint for these at least.

I didnt' care for the look of them either, mine were rusted too. I just painted them with black rust paint one year ago and it's held up great. I didn't even remove them, and barely cleaned them, one coat of rust paint with a brush is all it needed. Powdercoating would look great, if you don't mind the extra work or expense.

I've done it. No problem. The bushings can stay in.
The control arms are cast iron.

I havent really thought about doing this before. I do my own powdercoating, so that would be easy. Maybe when it warms up again i'll do mine.

Anyone have any pics?
