I just want to know what the car handled like and looked like with 45's instead of 55's. I was thinking that doing this and lowering the car would make the rims look bigger. Any pics would be nice.

I saw a pic of someone that had really low profile tires all around on stock rims, and it looked goofy.

If someone goes to aftermarket tires they go to 245/45/16 in the rear so yes this has been done numerous times.

Not a good idea in the front, you should stick with 205/55/16.

I don't think going to 205/45/16's in the front would be a good idea for any reason at all.

I respect your opinion of the tires looking goofy, but I don't understand why?

The difference right now between the 205/55/16's and the 225/50/16's (stock) is almost 100% unnoticeable... I don't think it will be any worse really.

I get the feeling that some of you don't understand what the 55 or 45 means in a tire size. It is the relative height of the tire as a function of its width. For example, a 350/40-16 would have side walls about as tall as a 175/80-16.

In the case of the OEM tire sizes, the side walls are equally tall on the front and rear. Don't get so hung up on the fact that the rear is a "50 series" and the rear is a "55 series".
