Default Anyone relocate the battery to the trunk? Pics?

I was wondering if anyone has done this and if they can provide pics or details on how to do it. I know people ditch the spare tires and toolkit to save weight and it got me thinking about how that affects the weight balance of the car. Knowing that the rear can be twitchy I don't feel comfortable reducing rearward weight so if I was going to do that I'd like to move some weight back with the battery.

Ive seen a lot of people do it. The spare is more like pulling weight from the center of the car. I took mine out for the space. My subs add a ton of weight to my rear.

I don't think that 20 pounds is going to make a noticable difference, nor even a difference.

I'm pretty sure the weight distribution on the S2000 is 50/50 in the first place. If that's the case, moving the battery would harm the distribution rather than help it.

I believe the S is closer to 50.3/49.7, people tend to round, but moving around the 20-40 lbs, especially if you loose the spare will make little to no difference. As far as road feel and cornering, if you see a difference, it's in your head.

Scroll down this link and you'll find a picture of the battery in the trunk.

Cables will have to be added thus adding weight.

I was thinking of relocating mine too (turbo ambitions) and I came up with the best place would be under the passenger seat. It's low in the car and central. I haven't had a chance to measure but I think one of the light weight batteries could fit. I'm not running a lot of accesories and don't have to worry about cold starts so I don't foresee any problems if I can get it to fit.

I'm in the process of relocating mine. I'll post pictures when I'm finished.

Moving the battery would mess up weight distribution. It's located behind the shock towers for just that reason - to maintain 50/50. Putting it in the trunk is more than lightly gonna f up your weight bias.
