Default anyone removed the muffler that ...

Hi,

i did that on my del Sol VTI and gained some agressive and louder sound nearly for free. I wondering how it would work on my S2000 without any further changes on the exhaust side.
Any comments, experience or known dealers that offer such a replacement pipe?

Thanks,
roku

Yes,been done,many threads on this;we call it "resonatorectomy",a little more agressive noise,no H.P.gain.

If you're looking for a slightly louder exhaust then stock that has no drone and is not very loud you should look into getting a fujitsubo . Its also good for a few hp, and has a great sound if you want to stay close to stock, which I imagine you do since you are thinking about removing your resonator.

Removing the resonator is the thing to do if you don't want to drop $500+ on an exhaust system (that yields little to no gains). The sound is awesome as I'm sure you'll find in your searches

This would be interesting in combination with a test pipe to eliminate the cat. Hmmm...summer project?
