Actually, that really wouldn't be that difficult to find an appropriate tire. The whole idea of upsizing wheels and tires involves keeping the overall diameter of wheel and tire close or acceptably close to the original.
For example, and to disprove your point, the overall diameter (I guess that is what you meant by outer diameter) of a 245-40-17 is 24.71 inches. If you compare that to a 245-30-19 with an overall diameter of 24.78 inches, the difference is .08 inches. To look at it from another perspective, the increase in diameter is .29%. Frankly, there are tires with larger variance than that in the same size. This seems quite tolerable as far as upsizing wheels and tires as the difference is neglible. And again, I know there are wheels that are specifically made for S2000s appropriate offsets.

overall diameter on a 225/45-17 is 25" also.

I don't know where you live, but that tire size is not that uncommon in Atlanta. And if it is, you can go with a 255-30-19 or 265, which are all within an acceptable variance of the original diameter. Of course, you can't find the tires you need everywhere, but no other tire is going to be as prevalent as the stock size(s).
Hey- I don't want 19s on my car right now, but my point is that people (on this website) are so afraid of plus sizing, and I don't know why. If done right, it isn't a bad thing. You seem to forget that not everyone here wants a JDM style S2000 with lightweight-matte black 16s, a Spoon hardtop, and Tein coilovers. Some people just like the car because of its styling, or because it is a convertible, or because it is a Honda. Not everyone takes their car to the track, or is concerned with weight issues, or wants clear sidemarkers.
My point is that people on this website tend to discourage any kind of accessory/modification that doesn't fit within the popular, and restrictive, list of mods. As far as a subculture goes, the S2000 crowd is damnably conservative.
Of course, it is a forum (dedicated to idea exchange) so we both have our opinions. Thank goodness they aren't the same, that would be pretty boring then, wouldn't it?

I just had to get new tires and had a few problems but most of the places I spoke to had no problem ordering my whatever I wanted! the only problem with 19 in tires is that they are so rediculously expensive. I spent 400 dollars on 2 of the cheapest tires I could find! I wasnt going to put anything nice on there for just one trip to the dyno

Thumbs down

here is a nice setup with 19" Racing Hart wheels

1" drop on Tien Style Drops but I am not sure on the wheel sizes and tire sizes.

he will rub lightly on bumps and agressive cornering:

The car looks awesome and is both show and go. IMHO even though it looks good when done right, it is not condusive to daily driving. This car is a weekend warrior at best.

May I ask what size tires are you running?

See, the problem with thinking like that is that you limit yourself rather severely. Who says his car can't outhandle yours? Just because a car has 19" wheels doesn't mean that is is slow and sloppy. Just because a car has 17" doesn't mean that it is tossable and nimble. There are, believe it or not, examples of 19" wheels that are lighter in some cases than smaller wheels. You should never think in black and white...
Also, what does "Jigg-Tastic" mean?
Fair enough, but weight isn't everything. Where the weight is makes a huge difference, but anyway. Whatever does it for you, just not my thing I guess.

And Jigg-Tastic means straight thuggin...rollin on 20's...got that b1tch on dUbs...car bouncin' on air bag suspension....you know...ghetto.

my friend drove this bad boy... cashed out on 19" racing harts. it looked good cause the car was an "all out" show car, but i think that's the only time that 19's are permissible on an s2000, and even then i don't think an s2000 should be a show car. but that's just my humble opinion.

i drove it a few times and i never noticed any rubbing... but i know for a fact that A LOT of $krill was invested in the suspension (and the entire car in general...) i'd have to ask him for the exact numbers on it, but it worked! he sold it a few months back and later said "i should have just kept those 19's and gave them to you!" chyeaaa.... cause they would have have looked so good on my completely stock / not lowered NFR. *donk rider... dirty south style*

That is good looking, is that a custom orange or is that NFR? Perhaps I am just colorblind... lol.

it's a custom red... you can't see from that picture, but it was two-tone. the center of the hood, the hard top and the trunk were this deeper cherry, almost purple, red; and then the wheels were colormatched to the darker red. sounds kind of hokie, but the car was MONEY, for sure. lots of attention to detail. it was supercharged w/ nitrous... and a PS2 too!
