Anything else than an S2000???
I wouldn't call the S2000 slow below 6000rpm. I mean if you think about it, for having ONLY 2 liters and weighing 2800lbs (empty), the car really pulls well off VTEC. For comparison, I refer to other 2 liter cars such as a Neon, Sentra SE-R, and such... Those cars weigh less than the S2000, yet have the same displacement and produce an earlier torque peak. They feel "sporty" and yet the S2000 is every bit as driveable. You can certainly drive around under 6000rpm, but it takes some restraint...
As I am finding with the WRX, its hard to keep if off boost. When I first got it, I had to get used to the turbo lag (vs the NA VTEC of the S2000). But, once you get into boost, the smile is quite nice. its no S2000, but it gets the job done, and I don't have to worry about what scumbag is eyeing the car while it sits at the park and ride...

I loved the reaction of passengers when you first hit VTEC... you get them used to the car pulling below 6000rpm and they say it feels pretty peppy... Then, you point it straight and hit it and the passenger goes for the door grip

My rolling toys are in my auto-sig, not counting my Titus Racer X mountain bike and Trek 2300 (whether it's a toy is debatable, though, since i just can't get too excited about road biking these days). I also get to play w/ an awesomely race-prepped SV650 via being on a friend's endurance racing team, and have open access to the R1 that my neighbor bought from me.
I'm just a kid who never grew up...other toys include 5 electric/acoustic/bass guitars w/ the requisite amps, PS1, & home theater stuff.

TrexSilver,
I have a 99 Taurus SHO for a company car and my S2K for fun. The two cars are a good combo. Switching from the s2k to the taurus feels like switching from the driver's seat of an F-14 into the driver's seat of a tank. Don't get me wrong, the taurus is, in my opinion, a better interstate cruiser. But the lag time in acceleration that you get due to the Taurus' weight more than makes it feel slooow compared to the S2000. Plus, the entire driving experience is much more direct and responsive. I've always appreciated well performing cars, but if you've been driving an SHO, the S2000 won't disappoint regardless of the RPM.
