I like your idea for the cold air intake, re-up with some info when you get it figured out.

Will be interesting to see how since the inlets are outboard of the body rails, radiator, and inner fender

cedelena,

With the suspension arms being black and the ducts being red the white is a third color added to the mix and that is one too many. Such a nice installation deserves to be secured with either black wire ties or stainless steel safty wire IMHO.

Nice job though.

Guys, are those ducts red - they look orange to me! (or is it just time for me to degauss my monitor again ).

Shaner, I agree with Chris, I don't see a simple or direct path into the engine compartment via the fake ducts. It's a natural for brake cooling ducts and little or nothing else, IMO.

And Bieg, are you kidding? It's a zip tie for crying out loud. Did I misread your post?!

It is kinda silly to worry about colors since hardly anyone will see the duct or ties, but I have to admit that I asked about the duct color and thought about getting some black ties.

It turns out that the most durable scat tubing only comes in the red (it is a bit orangey) color. I have had a large package of white ties in the garage for years so they just got used rather than gaining a matching black package to sit in the garage.

My brother has promised to get me some aircraft tubing hangers that are black and SS, but I doubt I will use them since they are designed to be screwed to a surface.

I suggested he use black ones instead of the white ones. What is the problem? Black would look better.

A small detail perhaps but simple enough to change next time the car is on a lift.

I would think it would be easy to create, (for someone besides me =), some black wire mesh or stainless steel mesh screens to replace the fake plastic ones that would look better.
