AP2 are 17x7 and 17x8 riight?
Also, I think the interior is a little different. AP2 has option of dual color red/black leather seats for silverstone and sebring silver. For AP1, I think it was all red and it came optional on black, white, silver, and silverstone. If I'm not mistaken AP1 has one cup holder and AP2 has 2 (although it's almost impossible to have two cups in there at the same time.

you are comparing 2 of the same item, only one is newer than the other. for example you are comparing an old ipod to a newer ipod that can display photos. why not compare the ipod to a nomad jukebox or whatever else is out there.
a better subject might be an s2k vs. z4 or 350z roadster or boxster.

I agree with Meth.
Except with comparing the 350Z and S2000, there would be EVERY difference, and that could be 20+ pages. And when people decide which cars, it's based on looks, image, performance, potential, etc. all mixed up with different emphasis to each person.
That makes AP1 vs AP2 a little more logical.

Also are you comparing 00-01 or 02-03 AP1 to the AP2? Probably 03, right?
Otherwise you would have a lot more differences (hey if you're having trouble reaching 10 pages!

The two are VERY similar products, yet, they have several differences. The differences between them, at least on these boards, are hated by some and loved by others. In a way, I'd say that the two apeal to slightly different buyers. Not always, but it seems that the AP1 is more race, while the AP2 is more street. If that makes sense. Not a big difference but possibly a slightly different apeal between the two. I'll try and explain it better after the research and everything.
Basically I'm looking at the finer differences, explaining them, explaining as much of the why behind them as possible, and what it means to the consumer. In a nutshell. I'd have a lot of differences one could say with the Z4 or 350 convert.
Hopefully after I post it when I'm done, it can help calm down some AP1 vs. AP2 stuff too. Although, this will be coming from an AP1 owners mind...so I'm sure I'll have some unwanted biases in there that I can't avoid. But I'll try to.
