Default Which AP1 is a better buy?

Hey, I have been looking for a s2000 for a long time now and I have finally found two s2000's that seem to be nice. I can't decide which one would be a better buy though, so if I could get your opinions that would be really great!

1. 2000 Honda s2000 AP1
- Silverstone Metallic with Black interior
- 124k miles
- aftermarket speakers (I think they may be Polk Audio) and a Single 10" sub built into the bottom of the trunk
- K&N air filter (not the intake, only filter...and it has the OEM airbox from the stock intake)
- Black round shift knob
- Aftermarket head unit
- Laser Detector (hes including this with the purchase)
- OEM front lip

The car is pretty stock and has had the valve adjustment done to it. The clutch is good, and the exterior/interior are pretty clean. There is a small ding right above the back passenger side wheel (rear quarter panel?)..it isn't too noticeable unless you come look at it real close. The soft top was replaced with a glass for the back window....it does have 2 tears on the top, but they are stitched up and has no leaks...

He priced the car for $9500, but I think I can talk it down to $9000, if I'm lucky...then MAYBE $8500.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. 2002 Honda s2000 AP1
- Sebring Silver Metallic with Full Red interior
- 134k miles
- aftermarket head unit (some touch screen/navigation system that was placed where the stock head unit goes....it isn't flush with the interior and it pops out a little, so its not exactly a clean installation job, but it is functional and it doesn't get in the way with the shifter or anything)
- Wired for subs, but no subs
- Comptech intake (its missing the airbox)
- OEM front lip

The car has a few dings and scratches here and there for a 9 year old car...the car above is overall cleaner. The valve adjustment was done. The clutch is "a little worn..but is not slipping"....I think he said it has 10k-15k miles left..but I don't know how he came up with those numbers. I plan on going to test drive it tomorrow and possibly buy it too. The interior is a little dirty, but I could probably clean it up for the most part..(the red interior is more worn out than the black interior from the car above). The soft top is pretty messed up, it has tears on the sides, but it was "sealed up" apparently it doesn't leak, but I think it will need replacing.

He priced the car for $7000. He claims to have another buyer who wants to buy it for $6500, but he said he will sell it to me for $7000...should I offer him something less or should I take it for $7000? I feel like passing up on a s2000 selling for this low would be a little regretful. IMO it is really hard for me to find s2000 for a cheap price like this and I am a college student working on a budget. Please don't discourage me from buying a s2000 because of that, lol....

BOTH CARS HAVE A CLEAN TITLE!!!! LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK, BECAUSE I PLAN ON BUYING ONE VERY SOON (TOMORROW IF POSSIBLE)!!!!

I'd go for the '02 and offer him $6600, but I'd pull a carfax before making any decisions. $7k is REALLY cheap and is a yellow flag imho.

ya, I know what you mean, he is only letting it go for this cheap because he bought a M3 and he has no need for the s2k anymore.

still, it's irrational for it to go for such a low price. It's really, really, really low.

I'd get the first one. Sounds like it's in better condition and requires less work. As a college student you want to enjoy the car, not keep throwing money at it.

Does anybody have autocheck or carfax service right now? My autocheck monthly ended a couple of days ago
I could send you the VIN Number. I would really appreciate it
Also, I used a website, I think its called NICB to check if it's a rebuilt title and it's not. It would be nice to see other things such as the number of owners and if it has been in any accidents though...
