hahaha, he said that he has a lot of people interested in the car and he's gotten a lot of phone calls....so the $7000 is unfortunately firm... I mean even if I end up paying $7000, is that a bad deal? Also, I'm paying cash.

Didn't realize that clean title ap1 s2ks were so cheap.
The 2002 sounds like a great deal.

I also found a 2003 Honda s2000 for $9000, I talked it down to $8000. He's only owned the car for over a month...he says its too small for him. Is this a better buy than the 02 s2k for $7000? The Volk GT7's are real and authentic...
Here is the description:

2003 Honda S2000 152k miles

--18" GT7 Volk Racing Wheels
--V1 AEM Cold Air Intake
--Lowered (also have AP2 newer shocks and springs that come with)
--Test pipe, straight piped, DC Sport Tips
--Suede shift boot
--Blox Neo Chrome Shift Knob

--New AP2 Softtop
--New NGK Platinum Sparkplugs
--New front rotors and pads
--Coolant recently flushed
--Fresh oil changed
--year old clutch
--no leaks, runs great, strong power, v-tec works flawlessly, shifts like butter
$9000 obo no low balls pls

I think 2003 for sure is a better deal if it is clean.

I would go 03, 00, 02. That 02 just sounds like a possible pile of hidden problems.

How many miles is "too many miles" for a Honda s2000 AP1? I feel like 152k is a lot for a s2k, because I don't see a lot of s2k's with that high miles. I am still a little doubtful about getting one with 134k miles...lol

I have to agree...the new 03 sounds really good. If not, then go for the 00 ap1. The 02 ap1 sounds like it could be hiding some issues. Of course, test rides and inspecations are a must on all three.

Good luck.

I would get the '02 if they are in similar condition...the miles are essentially the same and there is no guarantee that the clutch is not also about to die on the 2000 model. For that price I would think replacing the clutch and doing a few other services are likely expected especially at those mileages.

I wouldn't let a low asking price dissuade me from looking at a car. Some people let great cars go for very reasonable lowish bucks, some people ask ridiculous prices for cars they declare to be "mint" that turn out to be crap when you actually go to see them.
