Default ap1 spoon 2.2 stroker kit = ap2 2.2 stock?

I just watched the tuned s2000 videos from best motoring (best videos of the s2000 so far):

http://drive.gtchannel.com/?c=127&a=1503

In one of the parts, they talked about an ap1 with a spoon 2.2 L stroker kit. I paid close attention, but I didn't get the part where they explained the difference from the new 2.2L for the ap2. Both engines are stroked the same way?

Spoon also mentioned that the 2.0L was more adapted for track, then why stroke the motor?

Also, is it really true that the ap2 8000 rpm redline really should have been 8500, but HONDA just wanted to play it safe this time around?

What do yall think about the videos...

i think it makes sense, but from what i gathered from the video is that honda was playing it safe, probably because of the misshifts happening, but also i think the guy from spoon was talking about their pistons or cranks or something going lower than usual. So i'm pretty sure spoon 2.2>honda 2.2 but i watched that awhile back so i might be forgeting some of it.

Spoon makes take OEM stuff and "upgrades" them to somewhat better specs. Little better power, but stays reliable. A lot of the spoon stuff is made for endurance.

Well, this 2.2 stroke, I'm pretty sure it utilizes the F22's crankshaft...its has more torque than an AP1 and after researching...Spoon japan claims that it will make 275ps @ about 8600 rpm...and something like 26.8 Nm @ 6800 rpm. I'm not really sure how much this translates to according to our measurement of power or even adjusting it to the SAE correction method. Either way, I'm almost positive that this is the same motor as the one tested by road and track in this article:

My Webpage

I realize that there are some slight differences in compression and the measure of power...but the car seems to be the same and spoon only has one upgrade stroker kit for the S2000. Both rev to 9000 from a 2.2 and make power right at 8500 or 8600...Road and Track claims that Spoon used the 2.2 but they also say it was "completely rebuilt" which could mean they used the F20 resulting in the 2.2 as far as Road and Track may know...if this is the case, I don't think this kit is quite worth $2700 imo. For that matter just stroke a factory 2.2 to 2.7 and there it is...a monster!!
