It's possible, but I made the seating positions comfortable when I tried both. That's kinda what it felt like though, even though I think my legs were properly positioned to operate the pedals.

Honda did add the weight sensors to the passenger seat rails starting in '06 which would add a little height so I would assume that they also raised the driver seat for symmetry? For sure the AP1 driver seat rails are somewhat different than the '06+ rails.

So the 06+ seats aren't PNP for earlier models... I wonder if the rail setup has something to do with what I experienced. I'll have to search to see if anyone has put the 06+ seats in an older model.

The driver seat is PNP, the passenger seat rail has an attachment point for the seat belt but should still swap into an AP1.

I have installed AP1 seats in MY06 but had to swap the rails over to keep the airbag disable function on the passenger side, the driver rail was also swapped.

For the track it's perfect, for grocery getting not so much. I'm 5'10 and 165lbs, so i'm not a big guy, but I do have a longer torso.

The 2004, 2005 model years don't appear to have this restriction, and the 2007 is even easier. So I'm wondering if the change is due to the seat and the AP1 seats could be swapped for later model seats, or if there are additional changes making it tighter to enter and exit the early year models?

There was mention of one of the ap2 changes being more 'shoulder' room. I was under the impression this was due to changes in door panel. Perhaps thos accounts for entry differences noted?

I imagine ones bulk, and where ones bulk is concentrated (how high up), would be a factor if this is the case. Meaning for some there would be no discernable difference ap1 vs ap2, but for others there would be.

I own an 03 and have driven an 00, 01, 04 and 08. I didn't notice any difference getting in/out of any of them. Like mentioned above, you "wear" this car. I will keep my mint 03 for ever and will buy a cr in the future. Personally I would never use an s2000 as a daily driver. These cars are toys.

I like to enjoy my cars and have parking space for only one car. If I buy it, it's gonna get driven daily, 'cuz I'm not taking the f'ing bus.

Yup, the bus is no good. The daily driver comment was just my opinion. Good luck with finding a nice one, take your time and you will find the right one!! Enjoy

There's really zero difference getting in and out. Except that on my ap2 my doors seem a little more robust than the fragile ap1 doors, might just be the way my cars are though or the way my ap1 is? Not that I'd want to slam the door on the ap2, but I don't feel like I'm slamming it when I shut it a little harder than ridiculously gently.

As far as I know, and I have been following these cars since released, model years 2000-2005 all have the exact same seat (minus plastic colors on the back).

Hmm I have a 2004 and a 2001 ; my 2004 seats feel a little more comfy. I'll have to check again, but something seems different more than the plastic color on the back between at least the 00-01 and 04-05. Almost feels like a different material being used in the leather, the 2004 seats seem more leathery I'd guess.
