I'm curious about opinions on AP1 V1/V2 taillights. The only difference of course is the 2002-2003 V2 taillights have the chrome rings and the 2000-2001 V1 taillights don't. Personally I don't really like the chrome rings because I think they look cheap, tacky and distracting. Any thoughts???

I think the general consensus would be that its negligible i have a 03 and never thought to revert. I guess if you wanted a super simple clean s2k id say go with the 00-01 but other than that you definitely wont lose any pussy over it, You'd be more likely to score puntang with some ebay aftermarket support...

Lmfao, true! Most people probably don't care and I'm starting not too also just so that I can get a guaranteed glass window soft top with an actual functional defroster. Though when you say "if you wanted a super simple clean s2k id say go with the 00-01" you agree that the chrome rings are kind of distracting and unintegrated as the rest of the car? I just think they look a little odd because 1. It's chrome on a modern day sports car. 2. There isn't chrome anywhere else on the car so they kind of stick out a bit.

are you sure? The honda badges and the s2000 badges are chrome also the headlights have chrome in em... Also in yellow they do seem to stand out on the pictures you choose, on my silverstone i can barely see em...

Looks like you just joined s2ki do you have a s2k yet it almost seems like your buying the car based on the tailights lol, look for best condition car you can find and feel free to swap out any lights you want...

Lol na man the chrome rings aren't a deal breaker, I was just curious to hear the opinion of others. I actually just sold My 01 S2K 2 weeks ago specifically to buy a yellow one and have now decided I'm going to get an 02-03 with the chrome rings and just leave them in.

any other small detail cues? i thought i heard theirs no alloy dead pedal to the left of the clutch, Is the contrast too bright against the black carpet a deal breaker as well lol?

I don't like the AP1 V2 shift knob with the leather on it, good thing I kept mine or I would have to track down another lol

The only chrome trim on my 2006 car is the H-badges and the S2000 on the side fenders. Tail and headlight trim is silver color very close to my Silverstone body but they're not bling.

Functionally some (all?) AP2 tail lights have LEDs (at least partial?)

Yea at least the brake lights are led, my buddy has a black ap2 and his car looks like a Ferrari from behind at night time

The trim around the Engine Start button is chrome. Seatbelt buckles, lugnuts and headlights have chrome too. And some engine bay trim.
