Hi alle S2K fans

I have decided to buy my first S2K, and Im all new in the Honda world, and also on this forum.

Im loocking on an AP1 from 2000.
The biggest problem is that the car i located about 1800 km away from me and in a different contry, so I have not yet seen the car whit my own eys.
It is a car from USA, that have been importet via germany to Latvia, where it is now.

The seller have sent me a lot of pictures and also a picture off the vin number and some registration papers from the car.

When loocking at the vin number picture it almost looks like a sticker that has been put on a sligtly bigger "plate". Is this the orginal vin number, or is the guy trying to **** whit me and sell me a stolen car? (se picture)
Is there somewhere in the car where the vin number is ingraved in the metal?

Enything else i schould be carefull about when buying a AP1?
Have been told that some off the early cars had engine problems and a lot off them where changed under garantie. Schuld i worry about this when buying a low milege car?

Can you also help me whit some info on, how mutch off the car is built in alu.
im worried to buy a car that maybe have been involved in a accident, especialy if the frame is alu.

That is the sticker inside the door jam. I'm guessing the car is a GPW due to the white background?

As for the sticker on a bigger plate, I think that's normal but do not have quick access to check mine.

Yes it is a White car.
Is the vin number other places in the car?

The door jams, stamped in the engine area, fenders,trunk area.

This car has been in a severe accident and been rebuilt. I would not buy this car.

There a no way all this get registeret i cars i EU, so i didnt know it was possible to find information like this.

Thanks fore helping me whit this, i have informed the owner, and also sent him the history.
Hope he decides to show it to other buyers.

Now I am hoping to find a nother car, very soon.
Wish we had the same history system i EU, that would help a lot.

that car has moved arround alot. It started its time in the US in Virginia moved to Oregon (in the next town over from me), then on to Washington. Then it was shipped to Europe, looks to me like someone is trying to hide the history of the car.
