Default ap1 wheels on an 04+?

I tried searching but the search function kept crapping out on me Can anyone tell me the weight differences between the 00-03 s2k wheels and the 04+ wheels? Has anyone put 00-03 s2000 wheels on an 04+ s2000 before and if so did they notice any differences aside from a decrease in overall grip?

I'm not sure about weight differences, but if I had an AP2 I'd get either new wheels or the AP1 wheels. IMO the newer wheels are just

I'm not sure if the Aus-spec wheels are different to USDM, but I'd rather change the AP1 wheels for the 17" AP2 wheels, they look sweet imo...and I'm actually contemplating it.

Spotch, I'm not sure of the individual weight differences, but as for performance, I've seen a video where they tested the Ap1 & Ap2 side-by side on a track (both F20C1). They then switched wheels, and the Ap1 lap times improved by half a second with the Ap2 17" wheels. The Ap2 lap times dropped .2 seconds with the 16" Ap1 wheels. Also the Ap2 is listed as being 10kg heavier than the Ap1 (both JDM spec), so make of that what you will

Wow, that's actually really suprising. I would expect the extra width/rubber of the 17s would more than make up for the extra weight.... suprising that you would actually see an improvement on a track by going from ap2->ap1 wheels on an ap2 s2000. I figured the only improvement would be in acceleration from having less rolling mass.

Oh crap lol, sorri that was a typo...I meant to say the ap1 laptimes improved by half a second with ap2 17" wheels, and the ap2 laptimes were .2 seconds slower with the ap1 16" wheels...doh...

in the bmi video they said that the fronts are a bit lighter and the rears are a bit heavier but the total weight of the wheels are lighter.
but according to drift king its fun to play around with the 16's fun to drift, seemed like.

The BM s2k edition had interesting comparo's (switching the wheels etc), but its too bad they didnt take the race seriously...although it was still funny to watch their antics. I also noticed that for this one, the speed limiter wasn't removed, like it usually is with their other races.
