i dont mean driving like a grandma but like in the mods department
Mods and fuel efficiency is kinda an oxymoron...BUT you can get better mileage out of some bolt-ons. An intake will give you 1-2 mpg, supposedly exhaust can give you 1 mpg maybe (but most likely not cause your gonna want to stomp on it all the time). Also better spark plugs and wires should help in better mpg.

Oh and a tune helps too.

i get right around 23 city and on my recent road trip i got 30-33 MPG on the highway. i find that to be extremely good considering i was drivng alittle on the crazy side with redlines often on some parts of the highway and many trips to 100. However someone asked about better MPG with mods. I recently put on a intake and testpipe on top of the exhaust i already had and delightlfully found that i would getting about 30 extra miles to a tank on a regular basis.

I have an 04' an i wanted to see how good i could get so i went an entire tank without going over 4000 rpm, no hard braking and no hard cornering...worst week of my life and i only got 25.5 mpg 1/2 highway and half in town. Then i did a tank haviong a lot of fun and got 24.0....so just have fun with it because it really is;nt worth tryng to get good mileage out of. I got 26.6 in one tank once with 3/4 of it being highway and i floored it like thirty times due to my new exhaust. I swear they do better when being driven harder.

Increasing your tire pressure can help gas milage. Also when coming to a stop, disengaging the clutch helps. You can also do it while going down hills. A lot of people will turn off their car when coasting to a stop and then using the clutch to restart it at right before coming to a complete stop. This doesn't wear the starter as much but puts more wear on the clutch.

increasing tires pressure and reducing weight definitely helps. When I drove from NC to Michigan I upped my tire pressure a little since I knew I'd be driving about 1000 miles each way. I went from around 310 miles to the tank to about 330. So maybe an extra 1-2mpg for a couple extra psi in the tires.

sometimes on the long trips, but having a 23 gal tank with a HD1500 chevy with a 15 mpg isn't much better.
