yea i think it depends on the drivers for the ap1 vs ap2 races. i ran my friend off the line. he has an 04 and have a 03 and i got him by like 3 cars, then we ran from a 40 and we stayed pretty even, but everytime he shifted i pulled. we were both stock at the time, i bought an aem ecu, added intake and exhaust had it tuned all motor, and he could never keep up after that. since then i strapped on a turbo and all he sees are flames out the back!

As you can see in my SIG I have several upgrades on my AP2 and my top output on Rwhp (370) and Trq (226) peak right at 8,000 rpms. However, my tuner set the rev limiter at 9,000 rpms which he says will not be a problem.

for the 06 you can get the Hondata Reflash which raises the redline to 8600 rpms. and engauges vtec earlier which will give you more broader power band.
how early would vtec kick in?

what are the basic items and the process involved to upgrade my stock 2007 to limit at 8600 rpm's? Also can a basic guy with little mechanical knowledge acomplish this upgrade? What would the cost involved be for the parts? Thanks guys as I am very interested in doing this since I owned both a 2002 and now a 2007 and miss the 9000 rpm.

ok u pulled on him everytime he shift, it's because the stock Ap2 got the Clutch Delay Valve, to protect the Tranny and Diff, but ap1 doens't , but if he remove it.
u won't get him stock=stock.
