the oem tires are summer only tires. They will get hard as bricks in cold weather and have little traction when the pavement is cold. Lets not even talk about snow. mmmkay?

Snow tires would be a Very good idea.

i highly recommend dunlop wintersport m3s. had them on for the last 2 years, served me well. still gotta be careful, of course...the car isn't immune to accidents w/winter tires on. definitely do not use summer tires!

Yes. It's fun but controlable with snow tires.

If you plan to drive in the snow, put snow tires on, BEFORE the snow, or take the bus.

I had to get my 07 AP2 winched three times last winter. This was in just an inch of packed snow.....snow that everybody else was driving through no problem.

My tires would just spin and spin. The car is worthless in the snow. If it's just slush (i.e.: you can still see pavement) then you can drive with caution. Once it's fully covered, park the car or risk getting some damage.

I will never do that again. Keep it home, or get snow tires. People are are selling their AP1 OEM wheels with snow tires for VERY cheap. We all should consider picking up a set if we don't already have one.

Here's a video of the first time it happened. This was a couple of weeks after purchase.

^^If you only spun out three times on summer tires, I would say you got lucky.

To the OP, put 100lbs of weight in your truck, in addition to the snow tires. The S after all has posi and should go pretty well. Just beware of ground clearance.

If you drive like an idiot in snow, it'll spin. If you drive like a human being in snow, with proper snow tires, it'll do quite well. And remember, snow tires (even high performance snow tires) won't have the grip on dry roads that summer tires have in the summer.

Blizzaks on AP1 wheels ftw.

I'm thinking of ordering mine with ac for resale value and then removing it for track duty, anyone know if this would work and how much hassle it might be?

This post brings up two questions:

1. How is this even vaguely related to the subject of the thread?

2. How will removing the A/C make you a better driver (I understand that it might take a few tenths off of a lap time, but who cares for track days)?
