Default AP2 VTEC Engagement Point

What is the engagement point for VTEC for the AP2 motors?

Also, have people played around and found if an earlier engagement point is generally better on a stock motor?

What's the easiest way to shift the engagement point on an S2000? Do you need a VAFC, or a Hondata chip?

Used emanage to try to lower VTEC engagement. Got it down to 5500. Anything below that and the engine throws a CEL and goes into limp mode.

Reflash on 06+ will lower it succesfully to 4000.

Stock is actually about 5800 rpm - dropping to 5500 rpm seems best as it keeps the car fully in VTEC on WOT shifts. There's no point in dropping VTEC too low though - it is only effective at higher rpms - that's the whole point of it.

No it was no problem i just had to rev to 11000 but ofcourse had to bypass the secondary dash conductor cord to do this.

5.8k-ish sounds right. Look at AP2 dynos, VTEC hits a hair before 6k.
