Default Apex V-AFC Mounting Options

I am aware that there is presently V-AFC group buy (I am a participant) and a potential V-AFC harness group buy (awaiting final timing and pricing).

I am interested in deepening the discussion on V-AFC mounting points. My own asthetic personal preference prevents me from mounting it (either with bracket or velcro) on the upper portion of the dashboard. First, I don't think it looks good. Second, and more important, I think it is an invitation to theft. Therefore, I would like to explore possible ways and places to subtly mount this so that it is discreet but readily accessible.

My first thought is the flush mount it into the radio cover. While the radio cover may not completely swivel down with the addition of the V-AFC, I believe any head unit would still be accessible. I am unsure as to how it would be wired from that point.

There is also the possibility (although I am not really sure about this one in terms of cost and difficulty) of cutting part of the dash (like Honda/others have done for the DVD/Nav screen) and flush mounting it there.

Other suggestions? Thoughts?

THANKS!

Here are a few more spots I thought about mounting this unit:

1. Back on the compartment door.
2. Inside the cup holder (not sure about the sizes)
3. Windshield frame area (where Rick mounted his GPS unit), probably between the visor and the mirror for this unit.

Are these possible spots?

I like where Wesmaster mounted his... I understand the comments about why anyone would want to see it anyway -- it's just eye-candy. But, a certain amount of eye-candy can be fun. Wes, where did you route the cable? This is an insanely dumb question, but where does the cable go? Where does it connect into the ECU? Where *is* the ECU?

I'll mount it on the radio door if there is anywhere I can think of, of course that's just my opinion nevertheless.
