approaching 200k miles..
Hello everyone
Just wanted to see if these figures are normal among s2k drivers.
I bought the car as salvaged title at 23k miles. It now has 194k miles
I still have original clutch and it still works just fine.
I just changed my first set of front brake pads at around 170k miles.
I get around 29~30 mpg.
Biggest problem I've had so far was my fuel injectors and ignition coils had to be replaced on last year around thanksgiving
And I lose about 1 quart of Mobile 1 oil every 1000 miles
So far the broken things are:
Rear window defroster
Passenger side power window button on the driver side
Sliding switch for adjusting mirror
Rips and holes on the soft top
One of the rear taillight bulb went out once
I've had 4 minor accidents that required external parts to be replaced and repainted. Some of the fit and paint is not so good anymore
But overall,
Car still runs like a proper s2000... and it's almost got 200k miles

That's impressive that you'd get that many miles on your car after it was declared a salvage vehicle.
Before I got my S2000 I would have said that it would be impossible to get 170,000 miles on a set of brake pads, but the stock pads on this car hold up really well. I put 190,000 miles on my stock pads before I replaced them. Obviously, I do a lot of highway driving. I'm currently at 271,000 miles on my '03.
I still have my original injectors, coil packs, retainers, TCT, and just about everything else.

Mine has 164k and breaks a lot, but I beat the piss out of it. At 200k I'm stripping mine and rebuilding it from the ground up
