Honda gave me 2.9% for 12, 24, 36, 48...months. I even got 0% but the upfront cost would cost more than a 48 month loan.

If I've only been at my current job for approx 8 mths...will that have a substanial impact on my ability to get an auto loan? Let's just say my FICO is 750, and I'm applying for a 36 or 48 mth Used car loan. Come on lenders...

check out www.ncua.gov and look for some member institutions in your area. for example pentagon federal c.u. was offering 3.9% on new autos an 4.(% on used just a couple of months ago. almost every credit union has a back door to become eligible. pen fed allows you to make a small charitable donation in order to become eligible.

credit unions, in general, have much lower rates than other lending instiutions. they are also more flexible with their lending requirements. i'd be hard pressed to find better savings rates too

good luck

4.5% for a balloon loan, check these numbers out. Some of you guys jumping up to 04's might want to look into this. $7000 down, $241 a month for five years, if at the end of the five years I want to buy the car I have to come up with $16000. Now here is the beauty of this program, it works just like a lease, expect in a lease the car is titled in the lease companies name, with a balloon payment loan, the car is titled in your name, so you dont need the high liability coverages meaning lower insurance. Anyways, you can sell the car at any time and there are no pre payment penalties.
