I think 5.54% is pretty good. I got 60-month @ 4.9% back in December 2008 for a used 2007 and that is with a 0.25% discount as a BofA associate. My Loan officer said I got a new-car rate because they consider 2007 or newer cars new.

so im getting the car for 27,000 with the extended warranty...
amount financed is 29900...
490/month good?

You usually never work backwards - from monthly payment to interest-rate and downpayment. That's how you get shafted by the finance guy.

If I were you I'd get the lowest rate possible with the longest term for that rate and then pay it off early (make sure there is no prepayment penalty and that it is simple interest). I have a feeling that's what you are doing because that monthly payment amount looks like it's a 60-month term so you're good.

I guess Honda isn't running the 2.99/3.99% 36/48 mo (or was it 48/60 mo?) promotion any more? That's what I snagged for my '08.
