Do you guys have a dry carbon hood? What is the weight? And let me know if you have more than one style. Thanks.

I have the Dry carbon with the vent. It should be just over 10lbs, but the scale was a little off so I dont know the exact weight.

There are 2 styles available vented and OEM style with the hump for the Mugen/ASM intake. At least they are the only 2 I've ever seen.

I would have expected it to be lighter. I think there is one that is 2.8kg.

Thanks for the info! That is correct, only 2 styles: vented or OEM. 10lbs seems about right, keep in mind that the vented hood has built in water drainage, so technically there is more to this hood than just the "skin." There may be a dry carbon hood out there that is lighter, but it most likely doesnt have the hood latch and vent. Furthermore, the ASM dry carbon hoods are made through an autoclave process (similar to F1 and GT) and are made under 5 atmospheric pressures to get the most durable (under a somewhat reasonable price range) surface possible.

Is there a chance ASM Japan will be supplying more of their coveted parts to SuperAutobacs USA? Same companies should share their inventory.

Maybe the wrong people are in charge on both side of the pond and therefore they are not reading their market correctly and so stocking the wrong parts.

If they are truly one in the same company then it should not be that difficult to stockpile the USA branch, or is the inventory more of a local decision making process?

I find it shocking that these Honda Aftermarket parts (dry carbon or FRP) are more expensive than Porsche, BMW, AMG aftermarket parts.

Alot of the above is more of wishfull thinking on my part, I know there are economical business operational factors.

Many ASM parts are made to order, thus, they do not stockpile them in Japan or on our side of the pond.

I have to agree that the prices for ASM stuff are insane.
