Has anybody had any scratches etc on their new glass window (i.e. will a roof mat be needed?)

I test drove a 2002 S2K and the rear window is definitely smaller than the 00-01 window. The only "real" difference I noticed was the bottom of the window is now a bit higher than before, cutting off some of your bottom visibility.

Thanks Moonpie!

I had my '00 S2000 and absolutely loved it and only traded it because of the many recurring problems from the transmission. . .however, in trading to the '02 I now have many of the refined upgrades and this is where the S2000 should have been back in '00!

The rear galss window is really nice and it makes the car look much better, IMO! Keep in mind that BEFORE I had an '02, I thought of my rear plastic window of not being a big deal and hardly took notice of it! However, I can't seem to stop myself from seeing how the rear plastic looks compared to the rear glass. I really do like the rear window defroster. . .it really eerkked me how the "dew" would form up on the rear plastic and be nearly impossible to remove. Now, it's just a push of a button! I have NO visibility problems at all with this new window. I spend 70% of my time in the S2000 with the top down!

Overall, I traded my '00 for the '02 because of problems relating to the transmission and not because of any "perks" in the new '02. . .

I say if you have an '00 or '01 and have no problems, then I would only consider the rear window upgrade instead of trading in the car completely!

Thanks airgate. I've had zero problems with my car (knock on wood) with the exception of the temperamental reverse gear phenomenon. Guess I'll wait on the replacement, if ever it becomes available.

hm..it's too much trouble to upgrade so i wouldn't worry about it..although the dealer was going to give me 40m for my car and sell me a new '02 for 48m so that would have been a 8m upgrade!..ouch!
