I just got my 03 yellow s2k and thought of getting a matching die cast model. I searched and found out that AUTOart makes a 1:18 yellow LHD AP1 die cast. That's EXACTLY my car and AUTOart is known for making high quality die casts. Unfortunately, the whole internet is out of stock. On eBay I can find AUTOart 1:18 s2ks of all other colors, jut not yellow. The price is $50-70. Then I found only ONE canadian seller selling a yellow but s/he charges $180!! Almost devastated and wanted to give in to this ridiculous seller, I googled the product code directly and found a Greek website still in stock. Bought one immediately. ~$100 including shipping and I think it's not unfair considering the transcontinental shipping. So, if you wanted a yellow LHD AP1 die cast forever, act quickly before this last source runs out!

Every so often there is a company on Amazon that sells those for DIRT cheap. I picked up a white AP1 and a black AP1 for like $7 shipped

 

yep. picked up a sebring silver for 7$ but shipping was like $10-20 forgot.
(err it might be silverstone, w/e the silver one Autoart makes)

 

Fwiw you can always call local hobby shops and see if they have any on floor stock.

 

Wish they have one for Suzuka. I found a Maisto Suzuka Blue the other day at Costco for $12.99, comparing it to the AutoART one for $7 on Amazon it's much inferior quality. Altho my gf picked it up for me so it's all good

 

$7 AUTOart 1:18? Unbelievable... I want one too...

 

I have the yellow one that I think is AutoArt. Got it off Craigslist in a bundle of other diecasts that I didnt care much about, $25 for the whole thing which was about $4 per car. The only downside is the front plate is broken off so there are two black posts sticking out. I need to cut them off and paint them (bumper plugs!).

I also have a red and the silver collectors edition.

I've found lots of yellow S2k hotwheels, recently found a red one, but have not had any luck with silver.

 

$7 For an AutoArt one is an insane deal! I've never seen them go that cheap.

I have a silver AutoArt AP1 and Maisto AP1 Suzuka Blue. The quality of the AutoArt car is vastly superior IMHO.

I can't understand why the S2000 was so limited on the Die-Cast run. I've only seen AP1 model, no AP2/Type S/CR. I wish they would make more and more versions of the S2000.
