I'd rather see a SMG then an auto in the S2000. But I still like the manual personally, it's much more fun.

 

Well, I understand what you're asking. Not that you want to but how is it possible that your friend saw an Auto S. It was either a special order (anything's possible for the right amount of $$). Some really rich guy probably liked the S enough to make it auto.

That or it was a Z4 with S badges as stated above.

Possible, yes. Likely that someone actually spent the time and money to have it done, no.

But some people do wierd things.

Here's what I think your friend saw, someone was in 3rd below VTEC, they floored it, hit VTEC, the engine note changed and he assumed they down shifted.
