I love my MY00 and the plastic rear window does not bother me a bit. You just need to keep it conditioned and it will look as good as new. Mine is 5 years old and you can not even tell! Not to mention that MY 00-01 are still S2000 and a great car. Don't age discriminate, appreciate.
I am getting mine replaced to one with a rear glass top next month. $1200-$1300 for parts and labor was the quote I was given they would not touch the top if it was not OEM parts. I guess they rather have something that they know is going to fit then something they have to mod.

What did you use to condition your rear plastic window? Mine is all filmy and has a few scratches on it, and whenever it rains and I'm forced to drive the S I can't see a dam thing out of it.
I bought my S used and by the time I got it the rear plastic window looked like total ass. *Luckily* someone slashed it so now insurance is paying for a new top. I'm going to get the glass conversion done by a dude in our local S2000 club who was like one of the first people to do the conversion. It'll end up costing like $1200-1300 like someone said above.

Buy a couple of cans online.
It's clear and MUCH simpler than the buffing stuff out there.
It won't color the vinyl if you get a bit on it either.

Anyway, www.cabrioworld.com has actual canvas tops for the S with a glass rear window designed to be an upgrade for ~$700.

I have e-mailed info@cabrioworld.com and invited him to check out the board and maybe become a sponsoring advertiser. Maybe a group buy could be done, then people could see the results for themselves. This seems like such a better option than OEM.
