Default Axial Flow Short Shifter length

could anyone tell me the length of the Axial Flow short shifter: from the base of the shaft (above where it bolts in) to the tip of the threads? i would greatly appreciate it. i have an extra tranny laying around with the shifter, so i'm going to try to cut/re weld that and make my own short shifter. any advice on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

You can't do that. It is not just shorter in lenght, it is shorter in throw. To cut it to size, just cut off all of the threads on the stock shifter.

Actually it is 1.5" shorter over all. But the stock design really will not allow you to cut and weld it as you have planned.

good luck

shorter in throw as well--does that mean that the part underneath the shaft of the shifter is different as well?

hmmm...you're doing a good job of making me really want to buy this from you guys...

Yes, that is what it means. That is why it was made. The overall length is just a by product to get the stock knobs to sit as low as the VooDoo knobs did. So if you just want it shorter, get a VooDoo.
