Default back aches anyone?

Just had my car for a few days but I noticed that if I drove for more than one hour, I would be very uncomfortable. After I got out of the car, my back would ache. I was wondering if anyone else experiences this and if they eventually got used to it? Do you guys move the seats forward and tilted back or all the way to the back and straight up?

used to several months ago. it was because i was keeping the seat too upright. incline it a bit, you will feel a lot more comfortable, and the backaches should go away. you might also want to talk to one of the ergonomics types at your workplace or a chiropractor or something.

I thought having the seat upright is better for your back... I always put the seat upright when I my back hurts. I think it gives better support and helps keeping your back straight.

It certainly bothered me at first, but after a while, I got used to it.

I had the same problem for the first few weeks. After that, it went away.

My back used to hurt a lot after sitting in the seats for a while, and I was only 17 at the time. But after a month or so of driving, it went away.

Same here... First few days/week or two = back ache..
Doesn't happen anymore.. Your body adjusts.. Kind of like sleeping in a hotel bed for a night or two... You wake up with a sore back...

You'll be good to go in a few..

My back never hurt (knock on wood), but I think a lot of the pain may come from the entrance and exit of the car. The twists and turns one must perform to get in and out can cause some back pain.

I agree. When you get in, your butt should lead the way. Swing both legs in after you're sitting. Trying to get in the way you would with most cars is awkward and you're likely to pull something. When you get out, both legs out first.

Actually, I've found the seats in the S to be among the most comfortable I've ever sat in, even with a complete lack of adjustability for the lumbar area etc. I've spent entire days in the car and have never had any discomfort. Just my $.02.
