Wassup everyone. Today, I was driving to get some lunch when my car started to shake very violently when I was at a stoplight in neutral. I dismissed it and started to continue on my drive. Well, my car started to shake again (I hopped out of the car and noticed my left exhaust was pulsating exhaust fumes on and off). I thought a good 'ole V-tec would help. Well it didn't. My car has the check engine light on and it constantly backfiring (Poof!!!). I think it is my Denso plugs. What am I going to do? Should I replace my Denso plugs with my stock ones and bring it in to Honda. Is this denonation? Please, I really need any kind of help. Thank you.

funky. I wouldn't even think it would be the plugs - even if it was improper gaping, it wouldn't do THAT much damage to the car.

But question, is it erratic sounding when running at idle? exhaust as well? Trying to see if there's something in there that might be a possible bent valve like Joe in Austin had a month ago. You can always do the little trick of taking a broom stick and holding it up to the vavles of the engine to listen to hear what is going on in there. Sometimes, if you know valvetrain well, you can hear any fluttering (hey, I had a ford once, so it did that all the time - stupid pressed rockers). Other than that, because of the ck engine light...I'd just take it in, regardless of the plugs you are using.

another question: did you have a mis-shift before this started happening? and is there black smoke?

Dealer should be able to find the problem. Are the plugs torqued in correctly? Maybe one has come loose.

Yes my car is shaking while at idle and while driving. Yet, before it happened, I didn't dog my car at all. Having a bent valve is THE worst fear I can think of. I am scared. I'm going to bring my car to my uncle (my mechanic) so he can replace the Denso's with my stockers. What a day...a cracked my Feels Carbon Lip in 3 places in the morning and my car is F**KED! *Sigh*.....

No mis-shift or black smoke. Just some crazy vibrations from the car and the way my car accelerates (heck, my grandma can out run my car now). By the way, what would happen if the plug was to come loose (my uncle didn't torque them down, he done them by hand saying he does this everyday....Doh!).

1) re-torque the plugs - it couldn't hurt. I wouldn't think it would matter what plugs you had unless you just put them in the morning of this happening.

2) try resetting the ECU by pulling the fuse. RT outlined this VERY well here:
http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...?threadid=11631

Still comes on? Still twitches? Doesn't even have to be black smoke, still could be something bent in there, but if its screwed its screwed and there's not too much you can do, so just call up someone and have it flatbedded in if the light still comes on and it runs like crap after resetting the ECU.

/my two cents

Check your spark plug cables.
