Bad Accident - NEED ADVICE ASAP
The whole tone of this post is almost unbelievable to me. Bud, you should be charged for the roadside plantings you took out as well as the fence you wasted too. Unbelievable! What the hell is wrong with people these days? Sorry bud but take some responsibility for your actions and quit your pussy whining...

You want advice? Go to a professional driving school and learn to drive. If you were really doing what you say you were doing, the car would still be in one piece. The S2000 handles impeccably, and a little water isn't going to cause it to veer off the planet. Luck was on your side in this one. If you're looking for sympathy, you'll find it in the dictionary, between s..t and syphillis.

Whether you believe you were driving dangerously or not hardly matters here. ALL the evidence says you were. It's quite possible that you did nothing wrong at all, however, sometimes stuff like this just happens. No one else was around. The road was wet but normal. I see no recourse but to suck it up and take the consequences of bad driving or maybe just bad luck.
I do agree that the ticket is a low blow, but put yourself in the cops position. What would you think?
i wasn't there, so i really can't say what happened. i don't know how straight the onramp was, i don't know what was on the ground, or the condition of his tires.
sorry for your troubles and your accident, but after seeing the pictures, i am having trouble trying to put 2 and 2 together as to how this happened under normal driving conditions. like someone said unless mechanical failure occured, how else could this happen.
if you were driving normally and your car was in good running order, there would be a pile of other cars right there beside you. because they too are driving normally, correct?

However, the cure for hydroplaning is quite simple -- slow down. Any one car accident really comes down to only two possible factors: driver error or mechanical failure. Unless the suspension broke or the steering failed or the tire blew out, then the only remaining answer is driver error.
Wow!
I think when I get a new ride it won't be an s2k. I don't think I'd want to be a part of a forum with people that have posted some of the responses you guys have posted. But I know I shouldn't judge the whole forum based on the comments of people that don't even care about it enough to donate. I notice the responses from the members are much more empathetic.
I've been driving for 10 years without incident, raced motorcycles competitively without incident, and have a better than average understanding of vehicle dynamics. Having driven over 200,000 miles in my life time without so much as a close call, I was simply trying to convey that I could not figure out why I lost traction.
My concerns were twofold, and I though they were clear.
1. I wanted to make sure that I get enough money to replace my car as I've never dealt with an insurance claim, and have heard that insurance companies like to be as stingy as possible.
2. Wanted to see if anyone had any advice on how to deal with a bogus ticket (as I have never had one before).
Some of you guys are pretty cold. I was trapped upside down in a car for 2 minutes with gas leaking onto my head. My wife can't stop crying. I lost two clients in the past two days that were waiting to hear from me while I was in the hospital. For those of you that know, an accident like this is a pretty rough thing to go through. I'm not looking for a pity party, I just want to make sure I can pay my bills in the next coming months.
Human nature is a funny thing.
This is an excellent reinforcement to me to stick to local forums where I can actually get to know the people I'm talking to. The response I received on my local forum has been quite a bit different.
Next time I post, I'm sure it won't be under this account name.
