I guess we also shouldn't forget to thank Bnb-S2K for being such a naughty boy in the first place, and taking his baby to the car wash!

I take it that the 3M stuff you mentioned is compatible with Zaino Z-2?
Thanks [/B][/QUOTE]
Yes, it is perfectly compatible with the Z2. I've never had any reactions from an incompatibility here.
The only thing that all of you need to be really careful with here is to watch out when using tire dressings that contain petroleum distillates (ie. Armorall Silicone etc).
The Meguiars Ultra High Gloss tire shine is a good product, but you need to wipe your car down with Z6 after you run around the block with that stuff on your tires. It spots on the paint - not dangerous, but just annoying.
To apply it, I use the sponge Meguiars provide, or a sponge that you can get from home. Let it soak into the tires for about 1/2 hour, then get a towell and wipe the shit off! You should be left with a nice glossy tire with little to no residue on the tire. Of course, don't forget to drive the car forward 2 feet to be able to get to the bottom of the tire! By the way, you might want to wear latex 'body cavity search' gloves when doing the tires.....it gets well under your fingernails and women HATE that!
Of course, any of the Zaino rubber treatments are great as well!

Hey, I am writing this from work so my Internet Explorer window is very, very small, so I don't get caught surfing the web. As a result, I can't see the names of the people who are posting, but this goes to the "appointed guru and god of all detailing"
I understand your explanation of not using the wool mits for washing, but what about the sponges you mentioned? Is it dangerous to us synthetic materials on your car, the sponges always "feel" so rough and course to the touch.
Secondly, I've heard of the collector car types using only clear water with no soap on their cars (cars that are kept in a show room and are hardly ever driven) just to get the dust off, since there's no need for the soap. What do you think about this and have you heard of this?
Finally, how do you feel about using a california duster (or similar duster) to dust the car versus using a rag and a bottle of the Z6 or Mcguire's Quick Detailer (similar product)? I was thinking the duster may be safer since it is suppose to "pick up" the dust as you move it across the paint, as opposed to a rag or towel, which just drags the dirt and pushes it around.
Thanks!

Oh, I have another question Mr. Sime;
My red s2k sustained some scratches from a DRY chamois (some idiot detailer I suspect, while I was getting it stonegarded). Anyway, I tried using McGuire's Swirl Remover (I forget what number it is, but they only have one Swirl Remover), I applied it too a 100% cotton towel and begain to apply it to the paint in circles, after awhile I noticed that the cloth turned red.
What does this mean?
Thanks!

Okay...here's the condensed version...
* You need the 3M Swirl mark remover for Dark colored cars, not the version for light colors. You can also use Zaino Z5.
* Don't ever polish in circles. This is not Mr Myagi's Karate Kid "wax on wax off" trick that we do here. Up and down for a vertical panel, and back and forth for a horizontal panel
* A little paint on the cloth is fine. With any 'paint recovery' product (manual or electric application), you will always remove 'some' paint, After all, this is how it works. As long as you don't rub the same spot 3 hours straight, there is nothing to worry about.
* Synthetic sponges are fine when wet. Just make sure to thoroughly rinse the car before washing. And use the two bucket method. Some use the Griot's Garage boars hair brush, but I've never used it, so I can't comment
*I am not a fan of any type of 'Dry-type' car cleaning products. With the Zaino products, you won't even need to do this step. Don't use any product with "California" in it's name!!!
* Cold water only (with high pressure) fine to rinse the car off. For a perfect touch-free dry, use an air compressor with air nozzle to blow dry the car. Some others use leaf blowers to good effect. A synthetic chamois such as the absorber works better than leather and lasts longer.
* If you take your S2K to the DIY car wash, NEVER use the brush they provide. I bring my own buckets, wash solution and sponge.
Hope this helps!
By for now.

Actually, because of the quality of Zaino products, I am strongly considering becoming a distributor for Zaino so that I can service the S2000online members with product. Let me know if you need some in Australia!

I take it there are no local resellers over here - like I can't buy it at the nearest Autobarn?
