Default bad diff and warranty

well the diff is about to go it has all the signs. car has 97k I have put 40 on it. I have read all the bad diff threads and not found what I was looking for. The only mod to my car is intake, the dealer has said if it is the diff that my warranty will cover it. My question is will they not cover it when they see the intake, and say that the mod could have caused the problem?

Its very unlikely that an intake is going to give the car so much power that it would destroy your diff. That being said, the answer should be no but it really comes down to the dealership. Dealers are becoming a bit more 'mod friendly' these days, but you never know.

I would suggest posting in your local forum and see if anyone has any experience with that specific dealer.

an intake shouldnt effect coverage on the diff, but you may want to consider putting the stock air box on for precautions, it only takes 30 minutes.

YES THEY WILL!!

They tried to dissallow a hole in my hardtop due to the intake.

TAke it off and you'll never have to deal with the issue.

If you have an extended "warranty" (HondaCare, etc)...take the intake off before you go in. If you don't have the original airbox, someone local to you may have their original or swap with you for a few weeks.

Extended "warranties" are not true warranties, but insurance policies that can be cancelled at anytime for any modification you have on your car.

Would the AUT plate cause warranty problems?

IMO, it would seem that the cooling plate woulde be better for the motor than w/o, but I could see them tryn to slip it in as the plate causing a problem.
