Default Bad Morning

Had my first bad experience in MY05 this morning. I was already running late for work so I was driving briskly at 70 on the bypass to work. About a mile from my Hardee's breakfast stop all I saw was eyes and heard a eeeek and bump, rattle, smack, etc.

Needless to say the coon did not make it, but in the process ravaged the passenger side of my front bumper, fender well lining, and underbody diffuser. Grand total of $1,200.

I have a $250 deductable so it doesn't sting to bad. It could have been a lot worse if I would have time to react and swerve needlessly. I guess this just gives me an excuse to seriously look at aftermarket front bumper covers and count my blessings in disguise.

Not a moral to the story but I had to vent to someone

Thanks

My deductable is $1000 too, but because it was an animal and non-comprehensive it is only $250. The only good thing about it really.

I think you must mean that it IS comprehensive. Collision is when you hit something, and comprehensive is everything else. Animals are usually considered "acts of God" rather than something you can be blamed for hitting, and generally are covered under comprehensive.

A pigeon landed in front of me on the highway earlier this year. Thank God bird brains are small - they're easy to clean up.

Tuesday I was running late and happened to get behind a string of cars 3 long (4 including myself). This was a side road and the posted speed limit is 35mph. Usually I am running 60 - 70 through there. Well, I got behind these cars and just so happened my roomate was the car infront of me. The first vehicle was a Ford Ranger going 30mph so I was veering to the left to see around in an attempt to pass. Any other day I would have dropped into 2nd and took off past all three but for some reason I said "screw it" and dropped back and to the right (2-lane road by the way).

Anyway, right at the moment when and where I would have been going about 80+mph and just getting past the Ford truck a deer ran out. I would have tore my car all to hell had I made that pass and I possibly could have been dead. At the moment it ran out, all I could think was "God, I would have hit that deer."

When I got to work my roomate pm's me and askes me if I saw it cross the road. I told him "yeah and did you see me?, I was about to pass all of you." His remarks, "dude, you would have hit that deer." Me: "exactly what I was thinking."

Strange how things happen.....
