Default Bad score for S2000 on Consumer Guide Online

http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/new/rev...fm/id/20841.htm

It seems that they have given our car a below average for their "Road Test". The Audi TT, Miata, Z3, SLK, Boxter, and MR2 post better scores. I think the S2000 is one of the lowest in sports cars. Man, do these people know what the hell they are talking about?

The fact that "quietness" was one of the categories should tell you what they were looking for.

Let be sure we understand this: Consumer Guide IS NOT Consumer Reports, that respected non-profit organization. Consumer Reports RECOMMENDS the S2000 (that's saying a lot for them).

Let's just chalk this one up to people who think interior noise in a rag-top that revs to 9K is a problem.

Taken from the review:

"Engine loud and raspy in the high-rpm driving the S2000 encourages."

What the hell does that mean??

Or maybe I should be asking what the hell does mean that.

Consumer Reports accepts no advertising fees from the companies whose products they review.

Can Consumer Guide Online say that?

After reading the article, I can't say they were that off. SUre the 6.7sec 0-60 is WAY off however the other stuff was pretty much correct. The article was written for people who are not sports car purists...but rather want a Sunday drive. In that population, our car would suffer. This group of people would not put up with the small trunk space, "loud" interior, and high revving nature. And to that I say THANK GOD. The last thing I want to see is every Tom, Dick, Hary, and Mary (have to be PC ) drive an s2000. That would devalue the true merits of this car and make it another miata. Right now I know when I see another s2000 on the road, that driver a) is a smart person b)is a sportscar purist and c) GETS IT.

If they are a non profit, then why do I see their "Consumer Guide road test" in stores for $10 a pop?
