***Thread Hijack in Progress***

What are some good insurance companies to check out (specifically for insuring an S2K?) I get a little closer each day to getting one and just today, someone scored me $10K to help with the cost of the car. (No, not my parental units.)

Certainly there are many factors that go into auto insurance..... the rate they quote for the S2000 is 330% more than I'm paying.

I guess there is an advantage to getting older (note I didn't say old!) ...

I am 62, clean record for last 40 years, the S is the third vehicle and covered as an occasional use vehicle.

$266.50 for 6 months ...

I'm 32, daily driver, higher policy limits, and my insurance is about $640 per year or so. Wife's GS-R is $900 per year. Their chart is stupid.

Here's an interesting statistic. I use American Family insurance

2002 S2000 - 6 mo. premium $530
- 40 yr old male primary driver w/2 points in this vehicle
2002 Toyota Prius ( a hybrid) 6 mo. premium $515
- squeaky clean wife is primary driver

American Family ...

Agent says a lot has to do with where you live, where you work, where it is parked and how far you drive to work etc.

I think I will be the first to say... I pay more than what they list there!!

Im paying 209 a month... but i guess its because im not 25 yet (i'm 23) and im not married... 2 factors which greatly decrease ur insurance premium, i hear...

It doesn't cost as much for my wife and I to insure her 03 Acura CL-S and my 04 S2K combined as they list for just the S2K.

On a related note, it costs less to insure my brand new S2K than it did to cover my 3 year old Civic Si. Of course the Si ended up getting stolen, so go figure.
