im wondering if insurance looks at the s2000 as a little sports car with a 4cly motor or as a hot rod that jsut asks u to drive the crap otu of the car?

I just think the fact that it's a 2-door convertible that makes insurance skyrocket, for my quote at least, cuz I'm in a highly populated city and im 20.

$2,600 a year with Triple A. Now, with Wawanesa, it's $1,600 a year. There's a lot of factors that contribute to your insurance rates - age, location, etc. etc. Try doing a search - I think there was a pretty recent long thread about what people were paying for their insurance.

Location, Location, Location. South Florida is pretty expensive, I find. I've been between $1200-$1400 a year regardless of what vehicle I'm driving. When I went from a 95 Integra GSR to the 2002 S2000 increased only $60/year. I'm 25, no points, no accidents.

I thought the S2000 would be a bit more expensive, being a 2-seater, convertible, 240hp, etc. Apparently it's a safer car statistically speaking - less thefts, accidents? Who knows....
